- At Hampshire, you’ll design your own concentration of study. Think of it as a major, but much more interdisciplinary and tailored to your own interests.
- Our academic structure, called The Divisional System, guides you in creating this concentration with the help of a faculty committee.
- You can bring in content from over 60 different areas of study at Hampshire as well as courses in the Five College Consortium.

Part of the reason that I came to Hampshire is because I knew that I would be able to do music, and cardiac neuroscience, and whatever came along.
Students like you are capable of far more independence than most schools allow. Here, you'll create your own academic program, mixing project-based work, internships, and independent study with taking traditional classes. Instead of choosing from a list of majors, you'll focus on essential questions and borrow from coursework and faculty expertise across disciplines.
You'll be guided by a faculty committee made up of multiple professors and professionals. In the process, you'll acquire the ability to take charge of your own learning.
